Background
Since we started the business in 1986 with a focus on the outsourcing concept for controllership and bookkeeping services, The Controllership Group has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to local individuals and businesses. The Controllership Group's expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as audits, financial statements, and financial planning.

Our mission is to help business owners make better business decisions. This requires open communication to reach an understanding of our clients' needs, thorough research, and sound analysis. The Controllership Group is dedicated to meeting these goals with high standards of excellence and professionalism.
We combine the experience of a large firm with the personal attention that only a small firm can provide. Our clients come back to us year after year because they know they are in good hands. We work to develop long-term relationships; whether your needs are simple or complex, we can help.
Our Team
Tim has a passion for helping businesses achieve or surpass their financial goals. Tim is a CPA and has held positions as a full time controller for numerous companies. Starting in 1986 he founded The Controllership Group to provide part-time controller and CFO services for all types of for profit and not for profit businesses. Tim also has an extensive background in all types of accounting software selection, implementation and utilization.
Tim is active in his church, Truth at Work, married and has a son at Purdue. He is on the board of directors for Meningitis Foundation and Paracletian. He water skis competitively, climbs mountains, loves to read and is continually working to improve his skills.

Carl J. Kinker, CPA, MBA
Partner
Carl has over 25 years of executive level experience in management and operations serving as controller and chief financial officer for high growth entrepreneurial companies. He has dealt with many of the financial, accounting, operational, or management issues that you may be encountering.
Carl received his BS in Small Business Administration and his MBA in Finance from Indiana University. His background includes public accounting with a big four firm, retail (including distribution centers) as Corporate Controller for The Finish Line, CFO for Great Western Boot Company, and mortgage banking as the CFO for Custom Mortgage, as well as experience in the restaurant industry, service industry, not-for-profits, and an adjunct professor for Butler University.
Carl has a solid history of controlling cost, creating financial projections, managing cash flow, preparing financial reports, evaluating automated systems, and the development of internal controls, policies, and procedures. His tax background covers a broad spectrum of federal, states, and local taxes for corporations and individuals.

Tina is available to perform your bookkeeping functions out of our office or she can come to your office and work for you there. Tina has an accounting degree from Ball State and received her CPA certificate in 2009.
